Emirates: Newcastle to Dubai

I really had a good rest at the hotel so I was very much ready for my flight, Emirates: Newcastle to Dubai. Considering the airport is just 4 minutes walk away, I still checked out from the hotel 4 hours before my flight – just to be on the safe side. I knew Newcastle International Airport is not a busy airport but it’s a comfortable feeling to be right at the airport in ample time before the flight.

Check – In

Emirates check in counter was already opened when I got there and it was only me checking in by that time. So in short, I had the quickest check – in ever!

Security Check

Departure security check was a bit tight, well of course for a reason, but still the queu was not very long. Three hours to boarding, I was all cleared and ready to fly.

Duty Free Shopping

From perfumes and wines to electronic gadgets, chocolates, books and many many more, Newcastle Airport has lots of duty free shops where you can do last minute shopping.

Cafes and Restaurants

Two hours before boarding gate opened, I decided to have lunch from one of the cafes and restaurants in the airport. I chose to eat at the Flying Hipo. There’s my favorite Burger King but I wanted to try Flying Hipo. I ordered their signature burger and fries and one serving of chocolate ice cream. I had a great pre – flight meal of course.

I love Emirates! I was seated at economy class (as always) and I noticed Emirates economy class seats feature bigger and very responsive touch screen display monitors. From the hundreds of movie choices, I chose to watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I LOVE YOU EMIRATES! The head set sound even better than before – clear and crisps!

Hello Dubai!

Emirates Newcastle to Dubai

Dubai International Airport

After approximately 6 hours and 50 minutes, the plane touched down Dubai International Airport. In Newcastle, those seated in Economy class boarded through the ramp stair or also called air stair. In Dubai, everyone (First Class, Business Class and Economy Class) deplaned through ramp stairs and to the waiting airport shuttle buses. Everyone from the flight arrived at Gate A in Terminal 3.

I had 2 hours and 30 minutes time left before my connecting flight to Cebu. That duration was sufficient enough – going through security check and getting to the assigned boarding gate which was Gate C6. Dubai International Airport is a big airport so getting to Gate C6 wasn’t as quick as I expected. But anyhow, I got there one hour ahead before boarding gate opened.

Due to lack of sleep from the Newcastle to Dubai flight, I felt exhausted on the second leg – Dubai to Cebu. I didn’t care much about the in-flight entertainment, all I did was get some sleep as much as possible. And yes, I managed to get some sleep during the flight but on the way to the hotel, I still felt like I needed more.

Now in the comfort of my hotel room in Cebu, I just woke up from a really really good sleep. I am now ready for some action, hit the roads and can’t wait to meet the whale sharks in Oslob.
